Summer camping and glamping is a great-value overnight escape from city heat, and it breaks into three main styles.
Compare the types
- Valley (Hongcheon, Inje): 4 to 6 degrees cooler, water play, 30,000 to 60,000 won
- Beach (Yangyang, Goseong, Taean): sunrise, surfing, swimming, 40,000 to 80,000 won
- Glamping (Gapyeong, Hongcheon): bed, AC, and barbecue included, 120,000 to 250,000 won
Choosing and booking
If you have never pitched a tent, start with glamping. Book 1 to 2 months ahead for the July and August peak.
Safety
Valleys carry flood risk, so check the forecast before you leave and pick high ground at least 5 m from the main stream.
