Eulwangri Beach is one of the closest West Sea beaches to Seoul and Incheon, reachable by car in under an hour. Two beaches, two very different moods
The two beaches are about five minutes apart by car, so travel stress is minimal while each has a distinct character. Eulwangri is a lively beach with white sand, a pine forest, and rock formations; its crescent-shaped shoreline runs roughly 700m with an average depth of about 1.5m, and the gentle slope makes it popular with families who bring young children. It was designated a National Tourist Site in 1986. Wangsan Beach, by contrast, is quieter with fewer visitors and is famous for the Wangsan Sunset, ranked first among the Eight Scenic Views of Yongyu. It offers auto-camping, glamping, and caravan facilities, and pets are allowed if you follow the rules such as keeping them leashed.
A reliable half-day course (4 to 6 hours)
The easiest flow is to enjoy a beach walk and food at Eulwangri, then finish with the sunset at Wangsan. Stroll Eulwangri Beach past the pine forest and rock formations, stop for a cafe break or a meal of grilled clams and seafood kalguksu noodle soup nearby, then drive five minutes to Wangsan to watch the sunset before heading home. To get both good photos and an unhurried spot, aim to arrive at Wangsan Beach one to one and a half hours before sunset.
Getting there, parking, and what to pack
For public transport, the Airport Railroad (AREX) plus a bus is the simplest route. Get off at Incheon International Airport Station and catch a bus from the 3rd floor of Airport Terminal 1: buses 7 and 306 go to Eulwangri Beach, while buses 111 and 306 go to Wangsan Beach. If you drive, use Eulwangri public parking (714 Eulwang-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon) or Wangsan public parking (4 Yongyuseo-ro 423beon-gil, Jung-gu, Incheon); Incheon Jung-gu public parking runs about 400 won per 30 minutes, then 200 won per 15 minutes, up to roughly 4,000 won for a full day. Parking fills up on weekends and in peak season, so it is easier to take the first open spot you find. Wind is the main variable on a West Sea walk, so a windbreaker, sunscreen and sunglasses, and a mat or small chair for the Wangsan sunset will make the trip more comfortable.
