Namhae Sangju Songjeong Beach in Sangju-myeon, Namhae is a summer getaway where emerald water, fine white sand, and a thick pine grove come together. It's compact but clean, with calm water, so it stays less crowded even in midsummer.
What it's like
At about 1.5km, it's one of the longest beaches in Namhae, and the shallow water and gentle waves make it safe for families with young kids. Setting up in the shade of the pine grove behind the beach gives a natural-AC effect and plenty of room for tents and sun shelters.
Facilities
In peak summer (early July to late August), lifeguards, showers, changing rooms, and a small shop operate, and you can rent tubes and life vests on-site. After peak season there are no lifeguards, so it's best to skip swimming.
Getting there
- By car: about 40 minutes from Namhae IC toward Sangju-myeon, with a scenic coastal drive
- By transit: a rural bus to Sangju-myeon from Namhae Bus Terminal (only a few runs a day, so check the timetable), then a 10-minute walk
- In peak weeks (late July to early August), arrive before 9am to find parking
