Gyeongju Autumn Guide: Bulguksa and Seokguram (2026)

WeBring ·

For an autumn visit to Gyeongju, make Bulguksa the main stop and add Seokguram only if time, weather and transport allow. Start with Cheongun-gyo and Baegun-gyo, then visit Banya-yeonji pond and the Daeungjeon courtyard. An exact foliage peak date for 2026 has not been verified.

A short Bulguksa itinerary

The source guide suggests a 2–3-hour visit combining the temple grounds with food or a café in nearby Bulridan-gil. Follow Cheongun-gyo and Baegun-gyo → Banya-yeonji → Daeungjeon and Dabotap → Gwaneumjeon. Adjust for steps, slopes and your companions’ mobility. Check recent local photographs and weather before choosing a foliage date.

October admission and costs

  • Both temples’ official guidance lists admission from 09:00, with last admission at 17:30 in October. From November to January, last admission is 17:00.
  • Cultural-property admission is free at both sites. Parking is charged separately at each: KRW 2,000 for cars and KRW 4,000 for buses.
  • Enquiries: Bulguksa 054-746-9913; Seokguram 054-746-9933. Last admission is not a promise about how late you may remain; follow on-site instructions.

Before adding Seokguram

The connecting mountain trail has uphill sections and stone steps. Do not commit to walking it without checking access restrictions, daylight and return transport. Seokguram may close during heavy-rain, typhoon or heavy-snow advisories and warnings. If you arrive late or the weather is hazardous, keep the visit focused on Bulguksa.
