Jeonju is practically two different destinations depending on the season. Spring cherry blossoms and autumn ginkgo foliage transform the same spots completely, and the festivals and food change with them. Here is a season-by-season route, distilled to the essentials.
Spring Route (March–May)
From late March to early April, cherry blossoms bloom along the stream by Jeonju Hanok Village. Arrive early in the morning to beat the crowds and photograph the village easily, then have lunch in the Jeondong area with Jeonju bibimbap or bean sprout soup. In the afternoon, stroll Jaman Mural Village and finish along Jeonjucheon Stream for a full but easy day.

Autumn Route (September–November)
From mid-October to early November, Eunhaeng-ro turns bright yellow and Deokjin Park's lotus pond contrasts strikingly with the autumn sky. Start with a morning walk through Deokjin Park, head down to Jeonjucheon Stream for lunch, then spend the afternoon slowly exploring Gyeonggijeon and Jeonju Hyanggyo.
For dinner, try the Nambu Night Market, open every Friday and Saturday. Alongside the Youth Mall, it is the heart of Jeonju's late-night food scene, with stir-fried bibimbap, blood sausage, and handmade skewers worth lining up for. By early November temperatures drop sharply, so pack a light jacket or windbreaker.
Getting There & Budget
Jeonju is about 1 hour 20 minutes from Seoul by KTX, and just a 5-minute taxi from Jeonju Station to Hanok Village, so a day trip is easy. The village is walkable, with buses or taxis needed only to reach Deokjin Park. A daily food budget of around 20,000–30,000 KRW is plenty, and prices drop noticeably just one block away from the busiest tourist streets.
Plan spring around the cherry-blossom spots of Gyeonggijeon's stone wall and Jeonjucheon Stream, and autumn around peak foliage at Deokjin Park and Eunhaeng-ro. For peak-season weekends, reserve lodging and popular restaurants about three weeks in advance.
