A T-money card lets you tap for subways, buses, and even many taxis with one card, and transfers within 30 minutes are free. Buy the card for about 2,500 won at any convenience store (GS25, CU, 7-Eleven) or a subway station machine, then charge it with cash at those same machines or counters, anywhere from 10,000 won up. You just tap on entry (and exit for subways and some buses) and the fare deducts automatically, so no cash needed daily. There are cute character versions and mobile T-money via your phone's NFC too, and leftover balance can be refunded at convenience stores minus a small fee.
