I see electric scooters and kickboards everywhere in Korea. How do I rent one, and what are the rules? I heard the laws changed recently.

Apps like GCOO (지쿠), Kickgoing, Beam, and SWING let you rent by scanning a QR code and paying per minute after registering. Since the 2021 law change, you need a driver's license or equivalent, must wear a helmet, can't ride two people on one scooter, and can't ride on sidewalks, with fines for violations. Park them in designated areas so you don't block sidewalks.
