How do I book a visit to the immigration office on HiKorea for a visa extension?
My stay expires in about two months and I need to apply for an extension. I heard you cannot just walk into the immigration office without a reservation anymore. I'd like to know exactly how to book a visit slot on the HiKorea website, and whether there is a trick to grabbing a spot when everything looks fully booked.

Log in at hikorea.go.kr, go to the e-Application/Reservation menu, pick Visit Reservation, then choose your immigration office, date, and time. Extensions can be filed from up to 4 months before your expiry, so book early; slots fill fast, and the easiest trick is to log in around 9am on a weekday when fresh slots are released, or check back every day or two for cancellations. If your local office is always full, a slightly less busy branch office nearby often has openings. Also note many extensions can be done fully online through HiKorea without a visit at all, so check whether you even need to go in person.
