Welcome to Korea — here are the street foods you absolutely have to try. Tteokbokki (떡볶이) is the quintessential street food, spicy rice cakes in a sweet-and-spicy sauce, and mandu (만두) are Korean dumplings served steamed or fried. Korean-style corn dogs (핫도그) come with all sorts of coatings, dakgangjeong (닭강정) is sweet and crispy bite-sized fried chicken, and bungeoppang (붕어빵) is a fish-shaped pastry filled with red bean. If you're feeling adventurous, give sundae (순대), Korean blood sausage, a try before you knock it. The best places to find all of this are Myeongdong, Gwangjang Market, Namdaemun Market, and the Hongdae area.
