I've heard Korea has an incredible food delivery culture. How does it work, which apps should I use, and do I need to tip the delivery drivers?

Food delivery in Korea really is on another level. Almost every restaurant, even small mom-and-pop places, delivers, and orders typically arrive within 30 to 45 minutes. The big three apps are Baemin (배달의민족), Yogiyo (요기요), and Coupang Eats. Baemin has the widest selection but the app is mostly in Korean, while Coupang Eats works smoothly in English and has the fastest delivery, often under 25 minutes. Yogiyo sits in the middle and runs frequent discount events.

Payment is handled in-app with a Korean card or Kakao Pay, so you'll need a local bank account to register. The delivery fee usually runs 2,000 to 4,000 won, plus there's often a minimum order amount around 12,000 to 15,000 won. Tipping is not expected at all, so don't worry about adding anything extra. If your Korean is limited, Coupang Eats has full English UI, and Baemin has an English mode buried in the settings menu under 언어.
