  • Closest to Seoul: Songchu Valley in Yangju (inside Bukhansan National Park, about 4 km)

Handy tips

Most are a 1-2 hour drive from Seoul or Incheon, and some spots (Seonyudam, Bigeum Valley) ban cooking, so check first. Foreigners can just search the valley name directly, such as "Yongchu Valley" or "Jungwon Falls," in Naver Map or KakaoMap.

In short: For cool water play go to Yongchu (Gapyeong) or Jungwon (Yangpyeong), for a drive pick Baekun (Pocheon), for the closest option choose Songchu (Yangju), and for shade head to a national recreation forest. Just check the cooking rules and your day-trip is set.
