How do I set up home internet and IPTV in Korea, and can foreigners sign a contract?
My new place has no wifi so I need to install internet, but I don't know where to apply. Can I sign a carrier internet contract with my alien registration card, and is bundling internet with IPTV cheaper? How many days does the technician visit usually take, and roughly how much is the monthly bill?

You apply for internet with one of the three carriers, KT, SK Broadband, or LG U+, and you can sign a contract with your alien registration card. You can apply on the carrier's website, by phone, or at a nearby branch, and these days going through a sign-up agent site often gets you a cash gift. Bundling internet with IPTV is usually cheaper than getting them separately, and there are further discounts if you add your mobile phone. Internet alone runs roughly 28,000 to 39,000 won a month, and internet plus IPTV is about 30,000 to 50,000 won depending on speed and channel package. After you apply, the technician visit usually takes two to five days. Keep in mind internet is normally a three-year contract, so cancelling early can mean a penalty and returning any gift, so decide your contract length based on how long you'll stay in Korea.
