Where can I find English-speaking doctors in Seoul?
I need to see a specialist (dermatologist) but my Korean is still basic. Are there hospitals or clinics in Seoul with English-speaking doctors?
Also curious about:
- Does national health insurance cover specialist visits?
- How much would a typical visit cost?
- Can I book appointments online?
- Any recommendations for international clinics?

There are quite a few options for English-speaking medical care in Seoul, so you should be able to find what you need.
The major hospitals all have international clinics. Severance Hospital in Sinchon has a full English service covering all specialties including dermatology. Samsung Medical Center in Gangnam is a top-tier hospital with English coordinators. Seoul National University Hospital in Jongno has an international healthcare center, and Asan Medical Center in Songpa has excellent specialists.
For dermatology specifically, many clinics in Gangnam have English-speaking staff. You can search "피부과 영어" on Naver Map to find English-friendly dermatology clinics near you. There's also an app called Babelsign that offers real-time medical interpretation, which can be a lifesaver at clinics that don't have English-speaking staff.
A really useful resource is the 1339 Health Helpline, which offers free medical consultation in English. Just call 1339 and they can help you find the right doctor, explain your symptoms, or even provide over-the-phone interpretation during a clinic visit. It's a government-run service and available 24/7.
