Just using your neighborhood public facilities well can noticeably raise a foreigner's quality of life in Korea. It's the best-value way to break the home-work routine.
Three facilities
- Public library: borrowing, reading, programs, mostly free, join with ARC + address
- District sports center: swimming, gym, group exercise, cheap paid, watch lottery sign-ups and payment deadlines
- Community center classes: yoga, pottery, cooking, language, first-come plus lottery, materials extra
Registration tips for foreigners
Most libraries let registered foreigners join, but some need address verification, so a passport alone may not work. Bring your ARC and an address document (lease or utility bill).
