How do Korean photo booths work?
How do Korean photo booths work? What are the popular brands, how much do they cost, and what makes them different from photo booths in other countries?

Korean photo booths (인생네컷, 포토이즘, 하루필름, 모노망스) are everywhere and an essential part of friendship and dating culture. They cost 4,000 to 5,000 won per session and produce 4-cut film strips you take home as keepsakes. The basic flow is super easy even without Korean. Walk in, pay at the kiosk with a card or cash, choose your frame design (basic, with stickers, themed), then enter the booth.
Inside, you have about 10 to 15 seconds per shot, and the screen counts down with a flash. Pose with friends, change angles between shots, and use the printed-on-frame stickers some booths offer. After your 4 shots (sometimes 6 or 8 depending on booth), the screen shows a preview where you can adjust contrast, edit out blemishes, or add filters. Confirm and within 30 seconds your strip prints out, usually with a digital QR code link to download the high-res files and short video clip too. Popular spots like Hongdae, Gangnam, and Myeongdong have themed booths (Sanrio, Pokemon, K-pop idols), and some collaborate with major brands. Bring small props if you want fun shots. The Lifefourcuts (인생네컷) chain is the most foreigner-friendly with English instructions on screen.
