There's a small but active English-speaking AA community in Korea, mostly concentrated in Seoul, Busan, and around the US military bases. The Korea English-Speaking AA group (koreaaa.org) lists about a dozen weekly meetings in Seoul including in-person ones at the Seoul Union Church in Hannam, the Anglican Church in Jeong-dong, and online Zoom meetings daily. Yongsan area near Itaewon has the highest meeting density. Busan has weekly meetings at the Busan International Foreigner Church.
For professional addiction counseling in English, the International Clinic at Severance Hospital, Itaewon Global Village Center referrals, and Adaptable Human Solutions (AHS Counseling) in Itaewon all have English-speaking therapists experienced with substance issues. The 1342 Mental Health Crisis Hotline has English support from 9am to 6pm. For more intensive treatment, Dr. John Linton's clinic at Yonsei University Health System and the Seoul Counseling Center work with foreigners on a sliding scale. Narcotics Anonymous (NA Korea) also has weekly English meetings in Itaewon. Most groups welcome newcomers without any registration, so you can just show up.
