I have saved money while working in Korea and need to transfer it to my home country before I leave. What are the rules, limits, and best methods for sending money out of Korea?

You can definitely send your savings home, and there are a few routes. Banks handle outward remittance, but for proof-of-income the bank may ask for documents showing the money's source (pay slips, withholding receipts), especially for larger amounts, and there are annual thresholds above which extra documentation is required. For convenience and better rates than a bank counter, many people use licensed transfer apps like Wise, Sentbe, GME Remit, Hanpass, or E9pay, which are cheaper and faster for typical amounts. Whatever you use, keep your ARC valid until you've finished transferring, do larger transfers before you close your Korean account, and hold onto records in case tax or customs asks about the source.
